Who will you vote for this year?04 April, 2011 by Chad
Members from AKB48 pit it off against each other again this year as representatives of two different magazines, Shuiesha’s Young Jump and Kodansha’s Young Magazine. The nominees Team YJ7 (Young Jyan Seven) and Team YM7 (Young Maga Seven) have been featured in the respective magazines. Strictly speaking, YJ7’s photographer seems to be able to work the girl’s better sides while YM7 features some rather blotched photoshopping. But that aside, who will you be supporting this year?
The previous competition between Young Jump and Weekly Playboy lasted from October 2009 to April last year and resulted in Team PB winning. The selected members of Team PB were thus given the opportunity to grace the covers of both competing magazines as well as a special photo mook commemorating the event. Shuiesha is back again this year with a vengeance, sporting a team of some of the most popular members among theater goers.
Weekly Playboy isn’t competing this time but Kodansha’s Young Magazines have risen to the challenge. The teams have also been mixed up a little this year. Instead of voting for the teams as a whole, you will have to cast your vote for particular members. But perhaps the individual votes will determine who gets to be featured more extensively. Will fans get to look forward to two awesome B-sides featuring the teams in an upcoming single?
Starting from today, you can cast your vote here. Selecting your member of choice will bring up a larger photograph. After which, voting is as simple as clicking on the black button below. Other sites seem to have forgotten to mention that you can cast one vote each day for the duration of the competition. Votes are tied to your computer’s IP so only your first vote each day counts towards the total.
