Tsuioku / Taisetsu na Kotoba
Tokyo Girls' Style 10th single
06 June, 2012 by Gage
It has been slightly over 2 months since the release of their 9th single and 2nd album, and on the same day as AKB48′s Manatsu no Sounds Good’s release, Tokyo Girls’ Style is back with their 10th single titled Tsuioku – Single Version / Taisetsu na Kotoba (追憶 -Single Version- / 大切な言葉).
Apart from their first three singles, and their version of Love like candy floss, it has been a trend for their singles to have two new tunes every release. In this package however there will only be one unfamiliar song. The single version of Tsuioku is a R&B mix of the ballad version in Limited addiction. I find this version catchier, but there are others that disagree. Coupled with it is Taisetsu na Kotoba, another really catchy pop tune.
The single comes in two CD+DVD versions, Type A and B, priced at 1,890 yen a piece. And two CD+Extra versions: C and D, which are 1,250 yen and 1,050 yen respectively. All four versions came with the two songs and their instrumental versions.
As usual, Type A’s DVD held their Odekake (going out) Movie, Type B, their Making Movie, while Type C and D’s Extra CD feature a segment from a Live concert. Type D, which was only available for purchase during promotional events, also included the Royal Mirrorball mix of Tsuioku and a short preview of a new and untitled song.
Tsuioku – Single Version / Taisetsu na Kotoba is pretty decent single, however, it isn’t as good a buy when compared to their albums (the past two have been compilations of all their singles, with new tunes included as well). If it’s something you can live with without getting it immediately, it might be better to wait until another album release. But with Limited addiction being out for not long, I reckon that wouldn’t be too soon.
