Tokyo Girls Collection Spring/Summer 2010
22 April, 2010 by Sho
The Tokyo Girls Collection or TGC is a major fashion event that is held twice each year in Japan. The newest works by local labels are showcased in the event that is a unique cross between a runway show and concert. Also unlike other fashion shows, all the clothes displayed are actually wearable and catered towards the general female public. All the clothes shown are available for sale there and then and are modeled by popular models and celebrities. As with last year, Angelababy in included in the event’s lineup.
This year the first Tokyo Girls Collection 2010 was held at the Yokohama Arena on the 6th of March, two weeks prior to the Tokyo Fashion Week. It featured this year’s Spring/Summer lineups. The next event will will feature different brands. It will be held this coming Saturday on the 24th of April in Okinawa.
The Tokyo Girls Collection is definitely a terrific way to ensure the standard of fashion in Japan. The audience consists almost entirely of screaming young woman, crazy over their favorite fashion models. After seeing them in magazines daily, they get to catch a glimpse of them live in person at this special event. Standing tickets cost 7000 yen, while gallery seats are available for 5000 yen.
