Super Alloy Iron Man and Become Iron Man showcases at Bugis Junction now27 April, 2013 by Chad
This Thursday saw the international launch of the eagerly awaited third installment of Iron Man. To commemorate the new movie the folks over at Play Imaginative have set up a pop up display featuring the popular comic book hero. We take a look.
Play Imaginative have set up camp outside of Hotel InterContinental on the first floor of Bugis Junction as part of their Super Alloy Iron Man Preview Showcase. Over the next few months, they’ll be bringing over these exclusive fully metal models to Singapore.
I must admit, the models are pretty amazing. At 1/4 scale, they’re a lot larger than I had imagined. As the actual products are not yet available yet, the figures on display are actually plastic mockups, but even then they look really good. It’s not far-fetched to guess that the final 90% die cast products will be likely be of even better quality.
Super Alloy is an ongoing series of high quality scale replicas of DC and Marvel comic characters. Super Alloy War Machine, Iron Patriot and the new Mark XLII Iron Man models (among others) will be released between August and September. Currently Play Imaginative is taking pre-orders for the XLII armor.
Also being brought to Singapore at the booth is the Become Iron Man augmented reality problem. Using Kinect-like technology, fans can suit up in the Iron Man armor themselves and give it a spin. The Become Iron Man setup attracted a constant audience from the crowd at Bugis Junction. It was especially well received with the children passing by the booth. Marvel’s unique form of promoting the franchise and new movie definitely caught our attention.
The Super Aloy Iron Man Preview Showcase and Become Iron Man system will run at Bugis Junction until 5th May. If you’re a fan of the series do check it out.
Iron Man 3 is out in theaters now.
