STGCC 2012 Guest List
More guests this year at Singapore's most diverse convention

Just two weeks remain until Singapore’s annual toy, games and comics convention. Once again, a global selection of notable players from their respective industries will been brought together under one roof. This year they continue the trend of increasing focus on Asian talents. We take a look at more of the recently announced guests lined up for STGCC 2012.
Comics
Gerry Alanguilan
An award winning inker for Marver and DC Comics, Gerry’s works include Superman: Birthright from DC Comics, Avenging Spider-man, X-Men and Ultimate Avengers from Marvel Comics.
Andy Diggle
A leading comic book writer from the United Kingdom, Andy Diggle has worked on a great number of high profile comic franchises from Marvel, DC Comics, Dynamite and Image. His most prominent works include Vertigo’s action thriller “The Losers”, which was adapted into a a Hollywood movie in 2010 and “Green Arrow: Year One” which is the basis of a Warner Brother’s upcoming TV show called “Arrow”.
Andie Tong
The London based Andie Tong has a prolific career with many big players in the industry including Disney, Marvel and Dark Horse Comics. Andie was the regular artist for the Spectacular Spiderman UK from 2005 to 2010 and has since completed Tron: Betrayal, the graphic novel prequel to the Walt Disney’s Tron: Legacy. His most recent work is with the HarperCollin’s children’s storybook for the Dark Knight Rises.
Leinil Francis Yu
Leinil Francis Yu gained recognition by winning Wizard’s Drawing Board Contest and was subsequently hired by Marvel to work on the Wolverine comic series, which he is best known for. With 16 years of experience in the comic book industry, the Filipino has a plethora of works to his name including titles in the Uncanny X-Men, New Avengers, Wolverine and other Marvel series.
Jason Paz
A comic illustrator from the Philippines, Jason Paz’s has contributed to a number of popular Marvel comics including the Incredible Hulk, Marvel Zombies Supreme and Thor: Deviants Saga. His works can also be seen on popular card sets for Upperdeck, Rittenhouse Archives and Cryptozoic Entertainment’s The Walking Dead.
Carlo Pagulayan
Carlo Pagulayan returns again this year. His works include Marvel’s Academy X, Emma Frost, X-Men Unlimited and most notably Planet Hulk. Carlo has since also expanded into sculpting with his Planet Hulk mini bust, with more to follow.
Mico Suayan
Yet another talented artist from the Philippines. Mico Suayan won over comic fans in 2007 with his work on Marvel Comics’ Moon Knight. Since then his works has been seen in Thor, X-Men Legacy and DC Comics’ Batman Arkhan Unhinged.
Stephen Segovia
Stephen Segovia is the last comic artist from the Philippines to visit STGCC this year. His rich portfolio includes DC’s Countdown to Mystery and Marvel’s Wolverine Origins, Might Avengers, Silver Surfer and Ultimates vs Ultimates Avengers
Toys & Illustration
J.C. Hong, Yulli and K.A. Kim
For the first time, Hot Toys will also be bringing in a team of celebrated sculptors to STGCC. Production Director and Chief Painter J.C. Hong, Chief Sculptor Yulli (pictured in article title) and another sculptor K.A. Kim will be meeting fans in Singapore.
Mark Landwehr and Sven Waschk
Representing the German sculpturing company “coarse” is founder Mark Landwehr and designer Sven Waschk. The former founded “coarse” in 2002 through which he released his vinyl creations and continue to produce unique, high quality sculptures which are highly coveted by collectors worldwide.
Martin Hsu
Martin Hsu is an American-Chinese illustrator that will be appearing at STGCC for the first time. A character designer at Disney TV Animation and Nickelodean, the relatively new designer has built up an impressive resume through his involvement with various children’s licenses and animation projects.
Itou Noizi
Top Japanese artist Ito Noizi is perhaps best known for her involvement as character designer and artist for the highly popular “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya” series among many other achievements.
TOUMA
TOUMA is a Japanese character designer with 10 years of experience working for SEGA. He has since had a prolific career as a figure designer, creating his “KNUCKLE BEAR” character and collaborating with a number of popular Japanese companies.
Koto Nishiyama and Shinichiro Kitai
Two of the five members from THE DEVILROBOTS, creators of the iconic TO-FU OYAKO series of characters will be back again this year to meet fans and provide autographs for their popular figures. In collaboration with Play Imaginative, for just $10 ($12 for non-members) STGCC attendees will be able to get a random merchandise (worth $20-$200) from the PI booth, get 2 of their DEVILROBOTS products autographed by the DEVILROBOTS crew as well as an additional autographed polaroid photo together with them.
HuskyKevin
The brand director of “Husky x3″ and “Husky Rescue”, which popularity has lead to collaborations with various international brands such as Coca-Cola, Nokia and FamilyMart. HuskyKevin is also closely involved with charities and the public welfare, which have been built into their brand image, particularly the protection and care for animals
Wendy Chew
A local illustrator and frequent STGCC exhibitor who has found her niche with a cute “chibi” art style. Her works has been published in Udon’s “Street Fighter Tribute” and Marvel Comics sketch cards.
Gabby Tiongson
From the Philippines is up and coming self taught cartoonist Gabby Tiongson. Hailing from a family of doctors, and using his medical degree to inspire his bold drawing style, Tiongson wields a sharpie with surgical precision to design his Frankenstein-like creations.
Performance Arts
Touya Hibiki and Kousaka Yun
A tag team of famous female cosplayers from Japan. Touya is well known for her portrayal of male characters while Kousaka depicts the sweet and innocent types. Both of them are already regulars at cosplay, comics and game events in Japan but will be appearing in Singapore for the first time at STGCC.
Tadaaki “Jacky” Dosai
Cosplay legend Tadaaki Dosai will be making a return again this year. As the chief-editor of Cosmode.Net, Tadaaki is also the world’s utmost authority when it comes to judging professional cosplay. Unquestionably he’ll be here to judge STGCC 2012′s cosplay contest and throw out some professional advice.
Piko
After gaining fame through the popular Japanese video sharing site niconico douga, Piko has made his debut with Sony Music Entertainment and even lent his voice to the new series of Vocaloid. He will be performing in Singapore for the first time with STGCC 2012.
ZANEEDS
Japanese DJ ZANEEDS will be returning again this year with his Vocaloid tunes in a DJ battle with this year’s new guest MONOMIND.
MONOMIND
A popular Japanese otaku electronic label made up of DJ haLRu and guest artists. DJ haLRu is famed for his involvement with Doujin releases and has performed in events such as Touhou Project’s “Onban Yokoh” (Monster Party).
