Shinoda Mariko Turns 24

AKB48 member Shinoda Mariko turns 24 today. Fukuoka born Shinoda is the group’s oldest member and one their most popular. She is the only member to have joined outside of auditions. Previously a waitress at the cafe next to the AKB48 theater, fans petitioned for her entry into the group. Upon joining, Shinoda immediately displaced Narita Risa position and now appears at the forefront of all their videos.
Apart from her singing career, Shinoda Mariko mainly models for fashion magazines. She also managed to star in this Sony commercial last year.
