NuKME
Never leave your bed again

Was doing some usual online shopping, when I came across this interesting find. NuKME seems to sell fleece blankets fitted with sleeves and made into a dress. But like other Japanese lifestyle products, it’s the manner in which it’s being marketed that is most amusing.
To be honest NuKME seems like a pretty nifty idea. You can’t help but agree that the form fitting blankets look rather comfy. But unlike most lifestyle products that attempt to improve your quality of life and productivity, NuKME’s fleeces are sure to do the opposite.
You know (and the images suggest) that buyers are going to end up permanently wearing them around the house. Like most other lifestyle products, this is clearly something targeted at all the himono-onna and homebodies out there. This will make it easier to sleep just about anywhere.
NuKME’s fleeces are not a new invention. They’ve apparently been around since 2009 but is now relaunching their “Varm Fleece”. The new version boasts improvements, supported by infographics as expected of such a lifestyle product. The 2011 version features improved heat distribution and decreased “varm-ness” no doubt to counteract the effects of global warming.
The fleeces now come in two different sizes, a full 180cm “freesize” fleece as well as a smaller 125cm “short” fleece. The short fleece actually looks like something that would be extremely useful when it comes to traveling, if you can ignore how ridiculous it looks of course.
NuKME’s 2011 fleeces now include pockets too, perfect for tucking your television remote, video game controller/system or hiding snacks. Finally, there are matching children sized versions in the new lineup.
Unsurprisingly, the freesize version seems to be the company’s top seller. With the short and mini ones now going up on sale at the B.L.T. Web Shop for 1,980 and 1,480 yen respectively. Freesize ones start from 2,980 yen and are available through their Rakuten distributor.
