Namidairo

February 27th marks the release of YUI’s new single, Namidairo. I was rather surprised that Namidairo’s Oricon chart ranking was a low #3, after the previous success of 2 consecutive #1 singles. Perhaps the fans didn’t really like a ballad song from YUI? But it can’t be, for any decent fan would have just gotten the CD regardless. True fans would also know that the regular CD would never do, the Limited CD + DVD version of the single is what you want.

Long ago, record labels have come up with the ploy of introducing limited versions of their artists’ singles to kick up the sales, YUI is no exception. Namidairo might not be the first to introduce the addition of a bonus DVD (the inclusion of a “bonus DVD” usually means that consumers will also have to pay a little more for the single) but most fans are happy with the extra exclusive stuff they can own.

I’ve provided the two different CD covers for comparison. As most fans would know, YUI’s Official Website has this little jackpot-like mini-game. Upon successfully getting the 3 same covers, players would be rewarded with wallpapers of the given cover. Allow me to ease your frustration of playing the mini-game by giving you the links to the wallpapers directly.
