Milk / Nageki no Kiss
25 February, 2009 by Yan
2008 marks the 10th year since Aiko first debuted into the music scene, and since last year there has been a dizzy slew of events marked for her. The continuous series of Love like Pop, Love like Rock, Love like Aloha concerts (the former being Aiko’s annual concert tour and the latter 2 being Aiko’s occasional extra tours which does not happen frequently) has probably taken a good chunk of her energy from music making. But what surprised me was that she actually managed to churn a double A-side single, Milk/Nageki no Kiss right after the end of year events (Kohaku and some other end of year show).
Aiko also had all her fans on an adrenaline rush by coming out with the “DECADE” album which is within close vicinity of the single too. I was very happy with the lineup she had prepared for us (my wallet was rather in a very sad mood though). I’ll mention about the Decade album in another post, but her double A-side single Milk/Nageki no Kiss is already out while I’m writing this article. Being a major fan and knowing the inner works of how Aiko does with her Limited and non-Limited stuff, I had already placed online orders for all.
Now, for more information on the single. Released 18th of Feb this year, other than being Aiko’s first double A-side single, Milk/Nageki no Kiss is also her first single to reach #1 on the Oricon charts. She has really gone a long way for this and I have to congratulate her on the achievement. Interestingly, the song Nageki no Kiss was used as the theme song for the game Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echos of Time.
After listening to previews of the song via Aiko’s website (sadly my purchase of the single won’t come until at least 1 month later), I am happy to say that I enjoy both songs. They fall under extreme sides of her music spectrum, with Milk being an upbeat song and Nageki no Kiss a sorrowful melody.
Milk / Nageki no Kiss
Edit: Sadly I didn’t have the luck to acquire this promo CD which was given out by Aiko herself in a lucky draw for some magazine. But I happened to chance upon it on an online auction. Here’s the picture to share with everyone.
Here are the lyrics for Milk and Nageki no Kiss, please enjoy.
Milk by Aiko:
Nageki no Kiss by Aiko:
