Macau-HK Trip 2008 Day 2
13 May, 2008 by MJ
Day 2 of our 5 day trip to Macau, Hong Kong and Zhuhai. It was time to spend the bulk of our money. The whole purpose of going to Hong Kong was to buy camera stuff and shoes. Compared to the items in Singapore, it was about 20% cheaper. Reached Hong Kong at about 1pm in the afternoon, even though we left the Venetian at 9am.
Few things i realize about the place, there weren’t many trees… The air was really stuffy and thick. They even have a ticker running in the train stations to tell you the pollution level on the streets. Much better to go out at night. Another thing was the massive billboards. I totally love the fact that brands there have an entire building to themselves. Especially the FENDI store. SO CLASSY~!
Spent the night in HK before heading back to Macau the next morning. Should have stayed for 2 days. Missed out on a lot of places.
Photo Tour :

9am, bought us tickets to Hong Kong on the Cotai Strip Jet, also owned by Venetian.

It's incredibly easy to get from one place to another because of all the free shuttle buses provided by Venetian.

Waiting to go to the Taipa ferry terminal... had the bus to ourselves!

Tickets were issued in advanced, you only get your seat number when you reach the terminal.

We got chased off the front of the deck after they realized they left the door unlocked. lolz

Rather empty. We were expecting a whole lot more people. Oh well.

After an hour we reached Hong Kong, everything was in chinese! how to check~ ._.||

Had lunch at this place at the terminal. Their noodles were beyond oily. My aunt didn't finish hers too.

Made our way to their MTR, very similar to our MRT line, easy to figure things out and get to where we needed to.

Staying at BP International Hotel for the night, a few minutes walk from the station.

How does this place compare to the Venetian?

Not very nice xD But it's cheap. So no complaints.

Maps, check, HK dollars, check, buying list, check. Off we go~

Famous 3 streets in Mongkok. Mad crowd.

Finally found the camera shop after a bit of searching. Didn't buy much though. Only got a lens for my cousin.

I like how each brand has a building all to themselves. You can't find a 3 storey Bossini here in Singapore.

Went back to rest for a bit before heading out to another part of town, 'the branded street' xD

The Fendi Store is CLASS!

More branded store fronts.

This one was particularly outstanding at night.

We gave up trying to make our way to the river side. Got lost in the huge maze of shopping centers. Each one links to another one. Worst than Vivo city can.

Had dinner here, nice decor...

...not so nice food.

And that's the end of day TWO! Just lots of walking and window shopping.
