Munching konbu is an accquired taste
07 April, 2010 by Yan
I have a tendency of impulsive buying, especially when it comes to interesting foods. This time, I chanced upon some seafood snacks which were imported from Kobe. Beautifully packaged, tick. Japanese imported goods, tick. Seafood items, tick. Very expensive, overlooked. I quickly bought 2 different packets of the stuff to try out, deep fried konbu and roasted pressed scallops.

It comes at a whopping price of 10 dollars. I hope it better be good...
Firstly tried the fried konbu snack. It’s crispy and full of flavor but once you get past the 5th piece of konbu, the taste starts to overwhelm you. It’s probably good to pair with a nice beer to munch on for the whole night, but to eat it plainly it might be a little bit overpowering.

Looks promising, but sadly its really not my cup of tea.

Tried, and i have no regrets.
