Niigata’s cute exhibition24 February, 2012 by Chad
It seems Singapore isn’t the only one with convention fever. Next month, Niigata will host their very own Japan Kawaii Expo 2012. This debut fashion exhibition will focus on everything cute, promising visitors that they will be able to “See Kawaii”, “Enjoy Kawaii” and “Experience Kawaii”.
A small number of special guests have already been confirmed for the event. Gyaru legend Masuwaka Tsubasa (as Milky Bunny) and fashion blogger turn popstar model Kyary Pamyu Pamyu will both be making special appearances. Other famous models include Popteen’s Funayama Kumiko (Kumicky) and S Cawaii’s Angelica Michibata.
As with other fashion events, the Japan Kawaii Expo will also feature only real clothes. But the Japan Kawaii Expo differentiates itself by being a more hands on experience as compared to runway shows. In addition to a fashion show, clothing retailers and dessert shops will be directly set up inside the convention center. Workshops will also be held by famous makeup artists, who will help visitors achieve their maximum kawaii potential.
The Japan Kawaii Expo will take place at the Niigata City Industrial Promotion Center from 30th March to 1st April 2012. Tickets are sold per entry at 1,600 yen.
