HELLO ~Paradise Kiss~

YUI and fashion in a single package

More informed YUI fans would have already known that her newest single would be another movie tie-in. But just for the rest who might want a little more information, I’ll cover here YUI’s newly released 19th single “HELLO ~Paradise Kiss~”.

It’s not the first time where YUI has specially written a song for a movie or drama, but this time YUI was given the chance to write both the theme and ending song for the upcoming movie “Paradise Kiss”. “HELLO ~Paradise Kiss~” is the main theme, while the B-side “YOU” is the ending song for the movie. Since she is a huge fan of the mangaka Yazawa Ai’s works (original author of the live action movie), she probably wrote it with much ease, fun and joy.

For those who have noticed the CD covers or have had the chance to watch the PV, “fashion” is the main theme here. In order to follow through, YUI dons a series of fashionable clothing for the PV which is very much unlike her usual style. Fret not, fans who are still looking for the usual YUI quality music should be relieved that, as far as music style goes, she still remains in her own game.

Just a little side note about the live action move, Paradise Kiss. It’s based on the original manga story written by Yazawa Ai, with the live action movie and starring Kitagawa Keiko and Mukai Osamu. It tells the story of how a young schoolgirl stumbles into the world of fashion modelling and in the end took up the interest to pursue a path together with a bunch of student fashion designers.

It’s probably worth a watch in the movies if you are a vivid Yazawa Ai fan or Kitagawa Keiko .
