Just heard that the Japan Meteorological Agency have just annouced their projected date for Sakura. It is estimated that this year the Cherry blossoms will begin to flower in Tokyo on 23rd March.
A breakdown of previous years’ predictions and actual dates can be found at http://www.sakurazensen.com/.
The trend seems to be that they have been blooming fairly early the past few years. MJ and I will be in Japan this spring so hopefully we’ll be able to view the Sakura then.
