Drink Juice With AKB48

AKB48 recently appear to promote Yasai Ichi Nichi Kore Ippon (野菜一日これ一本), Kagome’s latest juice drink. Kagome specializes in various fruit and vegetable products. Their new vegetable drink’s name has the equivalent meaning of “daily vegetables, a pack of this”.

For the drink’s promotion, someone though it might be interesting to have 25 members of AKB48 represent the product’s 25 different ingredients. They’ve dressed up in ridiculous costumes to dance and sing for commercials. Buying the drink could also get you a keychain of a cartoon version of one of the members in the vegetable outfit.

More interestingly though, is the website that Kagome have set up. The Flash site lets you watch full screen, first person videos of each of the members that simulate the girls drinking the juice together with you. You can visit the site here.

Wota will surely delight in the opportunity to share a virtual drink with their idols. The girls are effectively, life sized on a 19″ monitor.

Gabriel got the chance to try out the drink during his visit to Tokyo last week. Unsurprisingly, his feedback of the vegetable drink was that “It sucks”.

It is apparent from the videos, some of the girls were having trouble downing the juice themselves. A few were kind of uncomfortable having a camera so close up as well.

Yes this is delicious.

Awkward.

Obsessive fans will no doubt patronize the juice regardless of its taste.
