Popular Japanese tee store Summer Sale23 July, 2012 by Chad
For those interested, Design Tshirts Store graniph is currently holding its summer sale, with exactly 30% off on a large selection of all sorts of clothing. Been wanting to order some tees from them for a while now, but with the sale, now was as good a time as any to grab some cheap tees.
graniph is a pretty popular fashion franchise from Japan carrying design-centric t-shirts. There are a ton of their stores all over Tokyo, and I’ve been to some, but never actually bought anything from them before. For a while, there used to be an outlet over at Bugis Junction in Singapore but the store closed down some time last year.
Apparently, the main selling point for graniph is their wide variety of tees, of limited edition nature. This isn’t something particularly unique anymore these days but I do generally find their tees better designed than say uniqlo’s. I’ve yet to test them out but the quality’s probably better too. The price isn’t too bad either. These t-shirts that I were eying weren’t actually on sale. The usual cost is 2,500 yen each.
It seems that it is mostly the summer series items that are on sale, since with it being summer now in Japan, most should already be equipped. Fortunately, it’s summer everyday in Singapore. The two shirts here would usually cost 4,750 yen (SGD$76) each, but with the discount they’re a much more acceptable 3,225 yen (SGD$51).
Alas, the most attractive point (apart from the convenience of being able to shop without leaving home through their online store). Is that shipping is completely free with purchases above 10,000 yen (otherwise it’s a flat fee of 1,000 yen). With the low/free shipping I was expecting probably air mail, but once it got sent out it reached in a surprisingly speedy 2 days. Turns out all of their orders are sent via EMS, so that’s a plus.
