Beat Generation / No More Distance
Fairies 3rd double A-side single release!

Avex’s new dance and hip hop unit Fairies are set to release their 3rd single release next month on the 4th of April. Once again, they bring us an incredibly polished sound accompanied by riveting dance moves. If it is not already apparent from the title, Beat Generation / No More Distance will be yet another double A-side offering from this modern incarnation of SPEED.
Beat Generation / No More Distance is not being marketed as extensively as the group’s Christmas release and VISION FACTORY (the group’s management) has only just last week released a short preview to the music video up at their YouTube Channel.
At first impression, the Beat Generation PV looks kind of like a fashion commercial. The song spares no time to break into its hook, and the sudden wardrobe change to sports outfits further hint that the song was intend to be a tie-in of sorts. A little bit of research reveals that Beat Generation will indeed be the image song for the new Ascis TIGON LazerBeam line of shoes.
Unfortunately, while Fairies has expressed its aim to be the Japan’s answer to the K-wave, it seems most Japanese labels stop uploading full length videos as soon as their artists start taking off, so it will be unlikely that we will be seeing a full video any time soon.
In their constant regurgitation of archaic practices, this looks to be just another counterproductive attempt to sell more CDs. Would nothing short of a miracle make Japanese companies embrace the full social powers of the internet as Korean artists have? Because with the lackluster sales of their last single, it is apparent that more people need to know how awesome this group is.
