AKB48 To Change Format Of Senbatsu Sousenkyo

26 March, 2013 by

In an announcement on the blog earlier today, it’s known now that the AKB48 Senbatsu Sousenkyo will be held this year, but with a slight change. In the voting for the new single (slated for an August release), members will have to register to be in the Senbatsu Sousenkyo. Eligible candidates include current AKB48 and its Japanese sister group members, the ex-AKB48 transferees (Miyazawa Sae, Takajo Aki, Suzuki Mariya and Nakagawa Haruka) and as a surprise, ex-members who have had a part in AKB48 for at least a length of 4 years as well. Members will have a week-long period to register their interest, and voting will commence on May 21st. In a first, the results will be announced at the AKB48 Super Festival held in Nissan Stadium.
