Aidol
Support real fans

Good news for those who love their idols. Some members from the fan community have undertaken a new collaborative effort called Aidol (アイdol ). The group aims to provide in-depth articles, translations and subtitles for anything related to the idol world.
While nothing new, it’s always nice to see someone actually contributing useful stuff to the community, as opposed to the influx of worthless posts we see on some other websites. (Oh gee I really needed to know that Ayumi Hamasaki just updated her Twitter. And wow look photographs from AKB48 member blogs with a description of what is obviously already in the photo).
On the other hand, for their first project, Aidol have started providing English subtitles to the ending videos for the recently released AKB1/48: Idol to Koishitara video game. It’s only been two days, but the group has already finished with Takajo Aki and Kitahara Rie’s videos. It doesn’t take much to figure out that those subtitles required more effort than a hive full of useless status updates. So do check out their site and show your support at www.facebook.com/myAidol.
