Agoda Hotels
Voted the world's cheapest hotel portal 15 August, 2010 by Sho
Those visiting Singapore, Japan or anywhere else may want to check out Agoda for some savvy hotel deals. You can expect to save up to 60% off the regular price if you plan and book your accommodation early through Agoda. During our last trip, all other sources were quoting a rate of $150 for rooms at our hotel but we managed to pay only $90 a night through this early bird system.
Agoda has actually been around since the the 90s, when it was better known as Planet Holiday. The company operates out of Singapore and Thailand but has offices throughout Asia.
The portal is sort of like a Facebook for hotel owners. So the site offers a list of many smaller family run hotels too which is great for budget travelers. Some 130,000 different hotels on the site personally update their hotel status in real-time. This allows for the smaller hotels to offer competitive prices based on room vacancy. For best results I recommend booking your stay early. You can get rooms at a steal if you book at least couple months in advance.
Planning your holiday? We recommend visiting Agoda for a full list of hotels with early bird specials.Supermerlion's Webmaster and Editor-in-Chief.
