Everything in moderation06 August, 2011 by Chad
Here’s an interesting find. It seems the Hokkaido Government sells items it has reposed from persons and agencies unable to pay their owed taxes. Items are put up for sale online at Yahoo! Japan Auctions no less. Recently, many of the objects in question are undeniably from otaku collections, as seen from the manga, anime and AKB48 merchandise that have been auctioned.
The auctions have already ended but you can head to the Nanae auction page for a peek of some of the items that had been sold. One can only imagine the owners’ pain if they were to know that their precious collections had been sold for minimal prices.
With AKB48 releases popping up like there’s no tomorrow, here’s a reminder to the idol fans out there to spend moderately. While it is only natural to feel the urge to support your idols (and they do need your support), hoarding tons of your favorite members’ items do not automatically make you a better fan. Spend within your budget and you’ll survive long enough to continue supporting them for the long run.
